Local RBC Bank Branches Hold Food Drive for Osceola Food Bank
Raleigh, N.C. - November 8, 2011 – Now through December 19, RBC Bank is inviting neighbors, clients and employees to bring non-perishable food items to select banking centers in Kissimmee and St. Cloud. RBC Bank is partnering with the Osceola Food Bank to collect food and donations for those less fortunate in the community.
The Osceola Council on Aging administers the Osceola Food Bank and is the largest social services organization in Osceola County, providing a wide array of services and programs to meet community needs. Established in 1971, the Osceola Council on Aging, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit, private charitable organization dedicated to providing services to enable independence and self-sufficiency for seniors, disabled adults and disadvantaged families.
“RBC Bank is proud to help people who live in the communities where we do business. We are inviting others to join us by participating in this very important food drive and helping our neighbors, especially as the holiday season approaches,” said Gary Moses, regional manager for RBC Bank.
Council CEO Beverly Hougland expressed her appreciation for the efforts of RBC Bank, stating, “Government funding cuts have left thousands of Osceola County residents at risk for hunger and malnutrition. It is now up to local communities to see that food insecure families receive the nutrition assistance they need. We are grateful for the efforts RBC Bank has made to join us in addressing this critical issue.”
