RBC Bank Contributes $10,000 To Artspace

Gift Continues Bank’s History of Strong Community Outreach

Raleigh, N.C. - March 24, 2011 – RBC Bank has made a $10,000 to Raleigh’s Artspace in support of the non-profit visual arts center’s educational programming and community outreach efforts.

“RBC Bank understands that giving to innovative organizations such as Artspace is an important way of investing in the communities we serve,” said Andrea Nixon, vice president of Enterprise Risk & Portfolio Management for RBC Bank and a member of the Artspace board. “Education, including arts education, is fundamental to the quality of life that we enjoy here in the Triangle. RBC Bank is proud to do its part and to make this contribution that will have a long-lasting benefit to the children and adults who are touched by Artspace’s outreach efforts.”

Artspace promotes the visual arts by making the creative process accessible to the public. Since 1986, Artspace has provided the community with a unique environment where artists, working in a variety of media with studios open to the public, have invited the community to become part of the creative process, a visual art center where children and adults can express their creativity through enriching educational programs, and a venue for exhibitions by regional, national and international artists.

“Artspace has benefited from a long-standing relationship with RBC Bank in support of our programs and we are very excited about our continued partnership to inspire and mentor leaders of tomorrow through quality arts educational programming,” said Artspace Executive Director Mary Poole.
