10 RBC Bank Buildings Cut the Lights as Kick-off to Earth Month

RBC Bank announced today it will join thousands of organizations around the world to support Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time. Earth Hour is a global lights-out initiative coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to encourage people and organizations to be part of the solution against climate change.

“Participating in Earth Hour is just one of the many ways for us to demonstrate our commitment to combating climate change and to show our support for the World Wildlife Fund,” said Molly Sapienza, senior manager, community marketing for RBC Bank. “We are encouraging our clients, employees and communities to participate in Earth Hour and to raise awareness of the importance of reducing the environmental footprint we each leave behind.”

RBC Bank joins its parent company, RBC, as RBC employees around the world observe Earth Hour. Ten RBC Bank buildings throughout the Southeast will participate by turning off all non-essential lighting for the full hour.

If you would like to register your individual support, visit Earth Hour's registration page:
