Webb Simpson to Compete in Second Oldest Stop on PGA TOUR

RALEIGH, N.C. – July 22, 2008 – RBC Bank is pleased to announce that North Carolina will be well-represented
by Raleigh native, Webb Simpson at the upcoming RBC Canadian Open.

The 22-year-old recent Wake Forest University graduate has received an exemption to play in the RBC
Canadian Open, which will be played July 24-27 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario, on the outskirts
of Toronto.

“We are extremely proud that RBC is a title sponsor of the second oldest stop on the PGA Tour and the world’s
third oldest national golf championship,” said Scott Custer, RBC Bank chairman and CEO. “However, we are
prouder still that Webb will be able to participate and represent his hometown and RBC Bank’s headquarters –
Raleigh, N.C. We wish Webb the best of luck as he follows in the footsteps of Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods and
his fellow Wake Forest alumnus, two-time champion Curtis Strange.”

"I am excited about the opportunity to compete in the RBC Canadian Open. Being a Raleigh native, I’m looking
forward to representing my hometown and competing in the event,” Simpson said.

While attending Wake Forest University on the distinguished Arnold Palmer Scholarship, Simpson ranked as
one of the top golf amateurs in the country. During his Wake Forest tenure, Simpson was a four-time NCAA All-
American selection. In addition, Simpson represented the United States at the 2006 World Amateur Team
Championship in South Africa and was a member of the victorious 2007 United State Walker Cup Team. RBC
is the title sponsor of the RBC Canadian Open. The tournament was first played in 1904 and is the second
oldest stop on the PGA TOUR and the third oldest national golf championship in the world.
