Community Development

At RBC Bank, we believe in making a difference in the community.

The Community Development Lending Group at RBC Bank works with non-traditional funding sources and special projects to improve the well-being of the people, institutions and businesses in the areas we serve.

We can help you access a variety of financing sources to make your community development project a reality - including construction, permanent and bridge loans, lines of credit, affordable mortgage programs and government-backed loans, plus access to grant funds.

Our Community Development Lending Program efforts are focused on providing affordable housing for targeted income groups and special needs populations, neighborhood revitalization activities, funding businesses that create or retain jobs and bring services to low-wealth communities.

We support these types of projects and more:

  • Affordable housing including single family (see our Model Home Loan Program), multi-family, new construction or rehabilitation; includes low income tax credit projects and HUD assisted project financing
  • Church construction/expansion
  • Retail centers
  • Commercial property (new or rehabilitation) including historic and new markets tax credits
  • Community-based businesses
